My Bike Tours

I started bike touring in 1993, rode nearly every year until the summer of 1999… and then stopped for 16 years. Long story…

Since I restarted bike touring in 2015, I have done a number of short and long bike tours, and written up a few of them to serve as inspiration/ information. For some of the others, I have put up a photo gallery with a rough description of where I went and what I thought.

I am happy to answer questions on the others and over time will put up a map and photos.

Riding North across Europe

Since 2019, I have been riding north across Europe in stages from the tip of Crete to Nordkapp in Norway, starting each year in the city that I arrived in at the end of the previous year’s trip. The pandemic interrupted things but I got going again in 2022 and am slowly writing up my experiences.

I rode the first part in 2019, riding from Ierapetra to Tirana up through Greece. You can read about it here.

You can read about the second part in 2022 from Tirana to Ljubljana via Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Croatian coast here,

You can read about the third part in 2023, from Ljubljana to Prague through the Austrian Alps and upper Danube here.

I am slowly writing up the fourth part, from Prague to Copenhagen via Berlin.
